Bollywood star Salman Khan is facing fresh legal trouble as the Rajasthan Government has challenged the actor's acquittal in the 1998 Chinkara poaching case in the Supreme Court.

Earlier The Rajasthan High Court on July 25 had acquitted Salman, who was accused of killing two chinkaras in separate incidents. But the High Court had observed that the statement of a key witness could not be considered as he had "disappeared" and the defence could not cross-examine him. Moreover the High Court also said that the pellets recovered from the chinkaras were not fired from Salman's gun.
