IRCTC launches tour packages for Darjeeling, Gangtok
Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary of the Indian Railways, has launched two separate tour packages for Darjeeling and Gangtok. This is IRCTC's first such tour programme for the eastern region.

The duration of each package, according to Mr Vivek Srivastava, Group General Manager of IRCTC, will be three days and four nights and the cost will vary depending on the type of accommodation.
The Exclusive Package, offering accommodation in a two-star hotel, will cost Rs 6,999 for each person, while the Premium Package, offering accommodation in a four-star hotel will cost Rs 8,999 for each person. The cost will cover 3AC train journey, dinner on-board, hotel accommodation, all meals, all transfers and all sight-seeings. Both the packages are available for Darjeeling and Gangtok. A special arrangement has been made with the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council for rafting in the Teesta river. Those opting for it have to pay separately. The first tour, both for Darjeeling and Gangtok, will start from December 22.
