CISF has increased security at all Indian airports. Flights to the UK from India are delayed, but not cancelled. Flights from Delhi and Mumbai are delayed by 1 hour, other flights on schedule. There is 100% checking of all baggage in specific international and national flights.
Additional security staff has already been deployed at all airports. Extra X-ray machines and scanners have been issued in metro airports. A Committee has already been formed by Aviation Ministry to look into revamping security at the airports. Also, biometric IDs have been issued for all airport staff.
In addition to this anti hijacking measures will soon be implemented and 50% of all baggage will be manually checked on all flights. There will also be thorough frisking of all persons coming to airport and a dog squad deployed.
