The government plans to set up a regulator to govern the booming civil aviation sector, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said on Monday reports Reuters.

Patel told reporters the proposal to set up the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority has been put up to a high-powered ministerial panel.

"It will thrash out different issues," Patel said after a meeting of the cabinet.
