DoT rejects 2% add'l plea levy on 3G operators: Sources

The Telecom Commission has rejected TRAI's (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) proposal for 2% additional levy on 3G operators, reported CNBC-TV18, quoting sources.

TRAI had suggested additional levy over and above normal licence fees. However, DoT was uncomfortable with the levy as it would reduce revenue proceeds from 3G auction.
