CAT at 8 centres cancelled
The CAT was cancelled in eight centers due to technical difficulties. The Chennai, Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, Delhi and Lucknow centers suffered a crash as soon as the examination began affecting 80 students, who were unable to take the exam. Two centers in Mumbai also were affected.
The Common Admission Test (CAT) that determines admission to over 100 business and management schools was cancelled in eight centers due to technical difficulties. The Chennai, Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, Delhi and Lucknow centers suffered a crash as soon as the examination began affecting 80 students, who were unable to take the exam. Two centers in Mumbai also were affected.
The Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) assured that the 80 student would be able to take the exam on Monday and no additional charge would be levied on them for alternate papers. "IIMs and Prometrics' officials are working towards solving the technical errors."
Officials of Prometrics, the testing agency monitoring CAT exams, say that the examination is not cancelled, but has been rescheduled due to technical errors. Affected candidates will receive details of the re-scheduled exam by e-mail or SMS, the officials add.
