Bag with powder, batteries causes scare near Delhi college
A bag containing some powder and two pencil batteries was found near a college in south Delhi this afternoon triggering another security scare, five days after a crude bomb exploded outside the Delhi High Court.

The bag was detected at a bus stand near Gargi College on Khel Gaon Marg, a senior police official said. However, they were yet to ascertain whether the bag contains any explosives.

"There is some powder, wires and two pencil batteries. Nothing was connected. We are examining the bag. It appears to be the handiwork of somebody who wanted to create mischief," the official said. Bomb disposal squads and forensic experts were rushed to the spot. Police have cordoned off the area.

The discovery of the bag with suspicious material comes five days after a low intensity bomb exploded outside the High Court on May 25. Nobody was injured in the incident.
