Here is the latest in the Rahul Mahajan case. After saying no drugs were found in his toxicology report on Saturday, Apollo Hospital on Sunday said they can't be sure.

Dr Anupam Sibal of Apollo Hospital had said that there was no trace of drug found in the blood and urine sample of Rahul Mahajan.

Rushing in to give a clean chit to Rahul Mahajan on Saturday, Apollo Hospital ruled out drug usage by Rahul Mahajan, contradicting statements of the four guests at the Mahajan residence on Thursday night. By Sunday afternoon, the hospital decided to do a U-turn.

Dr Anupam Sibal then said, "We can't be sure on what could have been used. Investigation is the job of the Police. Not ours."

Results from the Lal Pathology Lab that had tested Mahajan's blood and urine sample were made public, they gave out a different story. The tests results clearly stated that Rahul Mahajan had done drugs on Thursday night. If this was the report sent by the lab, then on what basis did Apollo hospital procalim Mahajan Junior clean of drugs yesterday?

Senior Consultant at Fortis Hospital, Dr Anoop Mishra says, "While sedatives can be explained, other drug traces in the sample is really scary."

Even Bibek Moitra's post-mortem report from AIIMS now confirms that he had died of a drug overdose, so what could be the urgency for Apollo to completely deny drug usage.

Medical investigation at Apollo has not been a simple process as they made the media believe on Saturday during the press conference. Tough stand on one day, ambiguity on the next day. The reason for this U-turn is best known to the Apollo authorities. But one thing is for sure that the Rahul Mahajan case has ceratinly become the index of credibilty for the hospital.
