Jubilant Foodworks inaugurated its 500th outlet of Domino's Pizza in India at Rajinder Nagar in Delhi today. The company, which operates Domino's Pizza brand with exclusive rights for India, has signaled aggressive expansion in the domestic market. CNCB-TV18's Sumit Jha reports.

Jubilant Foodworks continues to expand to smaller towns in the country with a target of 100 stores all over the country in the current fiscal.

The rapid growth in the domestic market has helped make India the fastest growing market in the world. Although, higher input costs have impacted quick service restaurants all over the world, Domino's continues to grow faster than it competitors.

Ritch Allison, executive VP, Dominos Pizza says the company is planning to open 100 stores this fiscal, which is an impressive number by any standard.

The company, which has a 55% mkt share in the organised pizza segment, sees expansion in smaller towns as key to future growth. Affordability and insulating consumers from any price rise is key to this ambition.

"We have managed to keep our offering affordable which has allowed us to grow in Tier-2 towns," Hari S. Bhatia, Co-Chairman, Jubilant Bhartia Group told CNBC-TV18.

With a planned capital expenditure Rs 150 crore for the fiscal, Jubilant looks set to continue to deliver hot pizza - on time.
