It is learnt that intense discussions are going on between the Mahindra and Renault management on the future of the JV that came into being five years ago. Renault, it is learnt, is likely to go solo as far as other products are concerned and about 40-50 dealers have approached them. Renault is expected to come up with its final plans on its road ahead for the Indian market by February 10.
Fluence and Koleos are two products that are expected to be launched by the end of 2010. These would be manufactured at Renault Nissan's Chennai plant. It is likely that Renault will set up its own dealership.
Sources close to the development also indicate that the service and sales head of Mahindra Renault have actually been moved back to M&M. CEO Nalin Mehta is likely to return to manage M&M Navistar.
