Swine flu covered under health insurance policies

Both your health insurance and your mediclaim policies will fully cover any claims pertaining to the H1N1 virus. Industry sources say swine flu is being treated as any other disease.
However, while the policies cover treatment and even death, diagnostic tests do not count, just like with any other ailment. Insurance industry sources also say that so far, since the government has been handling the treatment, claims have not been high. However, with private hospitals being allowed to treat the disease, claims could rise by 20-30%.
