Greenstone, the generic arm of pharmaceutical major Pfizer has voluntarily recalled two drugs on account of mislabeling reports CNBC-TV18's Ekta Batra.
"Around 500 bottles of Finasteride (a drug used to treat prostatic hyperplasia, a non-cancerous prostate enlargement) have been labelled as Citalopram (an anti-depressant)," sources close to the development said. Aurobindo Pharma supplies these formulations to Pfizer. However, the source of the lapse is yet unknown—weather the mislabeling has happened on the pharmacy level or at Aurobindo's end. At 11:43 am Aurobindo was quoting at Rs 189.85, down Rs 8, or 4.04%. However, Pfizer continued to quote higher at Rs 1,214.70, up Rs 22.75, or 1.91%.
