The Jet - Kingfisher alliance may not have taken off yet, but the king of good times Vijay Mallya in an interview to CNBC-TV18 says the alliance is on and will soon be expanded soon.

Here is a verbatim transcript of Swati Khandelwal's comments on CNBC-TV18. Also watch the accompanying video.

The alliance between India's Top two private airlines has been non-starter so far. But Vijay Mallya is optimistic about the alliance with his biggest competitor Jet Airways. Mallya says that both have started assisting each other in ground handling activities and have even applied for code sharing.

Vijay Mallya, Chairman, Kingfisher Airlines said, "We have applied for code sharing and do ground sharing activities."

When asked how two rival airline companies help each other, Mallya claims that there is no rivalry. He says both are working to help each other to protect their own business.

"We have no rivalry, we are in business and will protect our individual businesses. I have no animosity for Naresh, life is too short," Mallya said.

Meanwhile, both airlines are busy charting their international routes. Kingfisher recently announced eight new routes in its international plans.
