Lanco Infra is in talks with a private equity firms to raise upto USD 750, reports CNBC-TV18's Kritika Saxena quoting sources.

This is something that Lanco essentially requires to bring down their debt as its debt to equity ratio for Lanco has been significant and it has been actively looking at monetizing assets in order to bring in equity.

So now essentially this is pretty large and the power business is looking to raise around USD 750 million. Sources say that Bain, Blackstone, KKR are eyeing stake In Lanco’s Power business. So, while IT and telecom have come slightly tepid as far as PE investments are concerned, power is definitely an important area. It is learnt that Bain could be a likely frontrunner.

This is essentially bringing in fresh equity which translates to around 10-15%. Lanco is also looking at monetizing its road business and are going to sell their road business entirely. It is also looking at monetizing the wind portfolio and realty business. So, both  road and wind business is going to be sold off completely or if they bring in a financial player it could be around 50% stake sale. This is what Lanco has officially confirmed to us.
