Infosys increases mediclaim budget by 46% for FY10

CNBC-TV18's Neha Bothra reports that the IT giant Infosys will pay 46% more this year to renew its group mediclaim policy which is more than last year.

We understand from our sources that Infosys has renewed its group mediclaim policy cover for a total premium of Rs 22 crore. This is Rs 7 crore higher than last year. Last year, Infosys had incurred Rs 17 crore worth claims of which Rs 4 crore is still outstanding.

The policy covers a total of 92,100 employees and the sum insured range is from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh. Sources confirmed that National Insurance Company is the main insurer this year as well but 20% of the business is with ICICI Lombard.
