Diesel prices likely to be aligned to market
In a move that may prove beneficial, diesel prices are likely to be aligned to market, reports CNBC-TV18 quoting sources. It is learnt that this is one of the agendas that inter-ministerial group (IMG) discussed in the tax and fiscal policies meeting today.

The meeting was attended by Planning Commission, heavy industries officials and auto associations. The Finance Ministry and Oil Ministry will send comments shortly.
While petrol prices are market-linked, the government decides the rates of LPG, kerosene and diesel, which usually results in a large budgetary expenditure on subsidies.
