Consim Info Private Limited--the owners of the popular marriage portal bharatmatrimony.com--have dragged Google India at the Madras High court for trademark infringement. It has also dragged three other matrimony website--Jeevan Sathi.com, Shaadi.com and Simplymarry.com. Consim Info has alleged that Google India is using the trademark names of Bharatmatrimony.com and its other allied matrimonial portals in its ad words and key words suggestion tool programme.
The ad word programme is the major source of revenue for Google so Consim Info says that Google India should stop using these trademark names as a heading for its competitors' advertisement. It also wants a compensation of Rs 10.5 lakh for the damage from Google and the other people that it has filed a suit against. The next hearing of this case will be on Monday.
