Wipro in race of Goldman Sachs' IT contract, stk up

Wipro touched an intraday high of Rs 640.70 and an intraday low of Rs 631.25. At 12:33 pm, the share was quoting at Rs 638.50, up Rs 9.45, or 1.50%.

According to the sources, Goldman Sachs is going to issue IT contract worth USD 500-700 million. The contract to span across 5-6 years. TCS , Infosys , Wipro, HCL ,Cognizant and IBM are in race, reports CNBC-TV18. Contract is to create R&D functions, software database. The bids for Goldman Sachs contract is likely to begin by April 2010, reports CNBC-TV18.
 
It was trading with volumes of 379,914 shares. Yesterday the share closed up 1.04% or Rs 6.45 at Rs 629.05.
