MTNL to up fixed line call rate to 6 countries; stk up 4%

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) will increase fixed line call rate to 6 countries to Rs 2 per minute on Wednesday. The company to double fixed line call rate to US, Singapore and Canada. It will also up fixed line rate to China, Hong Kong and Thailand, reports CNBC-TV18, quoting NewsWire18.

Company's current call rate to 6 countries is at Re 1 per minute.

However, yesterday MTNL ADR was down 4.96% at USD 1.15.

It touched an intraday high of Rs 30.80 and an intraday low of Rs 29. At 11:01 hrs the share was quoting at Rs 30.10, up Rs 1.20, or 4.15%.
 
It was trading with volumes of 329,380 shares. In the previous trading session, the share closed down 4.46% or Rs 1.35 at Rs 28.90.
