Exide Industries rises 2% on winning trade mark fight

Shares of Exide Industries, a country's leading acid storage battery manufacturer, gained more than 2% intraday on Thursday as The Economic Times reported that the company won 15-year trademark spat against global battery giant Exide Technologies.

Shares of Exide Industries , a country's leading acid storage battery manufacturer, gained more than 2% intraday on Thursday as The Economic Times reported that the company won 15-year trademark spat against global battery giant Exide Technologies.


The report says, "The Delhi High Court restrained US-based Exide Technologies from using the trademark "Exide" in India and noted that Exide Industries had been using the trademark in India for the past 62 years."


At 10:49 hours IST, the share was trading at Rs 144.30, up 1.05% with volumes of 33,894 equity shares.
 
Market capitalisation of the company currently stands at Rs 12,265.50 crore.
