Bharti Airtel declares Dec qtr results; stock slips 3.6%
Bharti Airtel, country's largest telecom player, reported a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 1011 crore in the October-December quarter of FY12, a fall of 1.5% as compared to Rs 1,027 crore in previous quarter, as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Net income was impacted by higher tax provisioning in the quarter ended December FY12. Tax rate was at 32.5% during the quarter.
Total revenues for the third quarter rose 7% to Rs 18,477 crore from Rs 17,269.8 crore quarter-on-quarter.
At 09:16 hrs the share was quoting at Rs 365.25, down Rs 13.70, or 3.62%. The share touched an intraday high of Rs 368.55 and an intraday low of Rs 362.55.
It was trading with volumes of 58,835 shares. In the previous trading session, the share closed down 2.46% or Rs 9.55 at Rs 378.95.
