Computer education institute Aptech shares rallied nearly 15 percent Thursday on the news of buyback of shares. Ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala hold 8.85 percent stake and 4.48 percent in the company, as of March 2013.

".. the board of directors, in a meeting on May 13, will consider the proposal for buy back of shares," according to a release sent to exchanges.The board will also consider recommending final dividend for the year ended March 31, 2013, apart from declaring audited annual accounts for FY13.Ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala hold 8.85 percent stake and 4.48 percent in the company, as of March 2013. Meanwhile, Rare Equity Private Limited has 21.63 percent stake.The stock surged 22 percent in past month. Today at 15:13 hours IST, the stock was quoting at Rs 54.25, up 14.45 percent amid large volumes on Bombay Stock Exchange.Trading volumes jumped 10 times to 12,36,232 equity shares as compared to its five-day average of 1,24,429 shares.In the previous trading session too, the share rose 4.52 percent to close at Rs 47.40.
