Zapak partners with Adlabs & LoveStory 2050

Zapak.com, India's largest online gaming portal, a Reliance ADA Group venture today announced a tie-up with the movie 'LoveStory 2050'. As a part of this deal Zapak will have the distribution rights of the movie merchandise.

 

Lovestory 2050 as a movie has a futuristic Sci-Fi setting and the products have been designed keeping the movie theme in view. There are 3 exciting products that will be introduced in the market.

 

The products include:

  • Space Carrier - This product replicates the futuristic vehicle that Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra commute in. This is a remote control operated vehicle which will have a great appeal for kids. The product unlike other Remote control toys doesn't have wheels, but works on a hovercraft principle where it creates an air-cushion and runs on the same. The product will be attractively priced at Rs 999/- and be available as a limited edition product.
  • Space Listener - This toy is based on the punch line of the movie "The future is here". Things which are far-far away can be heard using this futuristic device. This is a battery operated toy which helps you to listen for things which are being said far away. This will also be priced at Rs 999/-.
  • Lovestory 2050 - BOO (2 variants) - Priyanka's cuddly robot pet Boo has been showcased throughout the movie and now can be yours. Zapak has taken the exclusive rights for this toy from Cartoon Network/Turner for this product. This will be priced at Rs. 299/- and Rs. 499/-.

All these toys would be available Pan - India and be distributed through the physical distribution network build by Zapak. Zapak has a physical distribution network in more than 75 cities across India. The merchandise will be sold through 3500+ gift / toys / high-end stationery stores. Zapak and Adlabs being group companies have great internal synergies and thus it makes a great sense to get to distribute movie merchandise products through the already existing distribution solution which Zapak has successfully built over the last 1 year.

 

Speaking on the association, Harman Baweja said, "Zapak is the largest gaming portal in India and we are extremely happy to be associated with them through our film LoveStory 2050."

 

Adding to that the director of the movie, Harry Baweja said, "We are very happy with this tie up, our film has excelled in every direction and I am very delighted that our association with Zapak will add an extra zing to our Film LoveStory 2050'

 

On this association, Arun Mehra, Chief Marketing Officer, Zapak Digital Entertainment Limited said, "This tie-up with Lovestory 2050 is our second step in the segment of merchandising. The movie has a futuristic setting and these products will have a complete fit with the kids & gaming fraternity. We are happy to associate with Love Story 2050 to distribute these products through our well established network. This association also gives us an opportunity to leverage synergies with Adlabs, a group company."

 

Saurabh Varma, Chief Marketing Officer, Reliance BIG Pictures, added, "We are extremely proud to be associated with 'LoveStory 2050', It has already achieved an iconic status and I am positive about this endeavor with Zapak becoming a rage in the film industry with producers looking at such extensions for their films."

 

Rocking Pixels has associated with Love Story 2050 to create for the first time a Bollywood based 3D game that will bring realistic "avatars" of the stars to the masses that will be able to connect with their most popular icons in a way never before possible. The massively multiplayer games with hundreds of thousands of players competing with each other provide the most interactive lean forward medium which associates players with the stars.

 

On this occasion, Sanjit Daniel, CEO, Rocking Pixels said, "When Love Story 2050 was announced we realized that the movie will be a great fit to showcase our technology as it was futuristic and loaded with special effects. With Harman himself being a hard core gamer we managed to create a breakthrough game which brings the movie in all its glory to the world of 3D gaming. The game will be released as a massively multiplayer game and will feature exciting game play in a futuristic Mumbai, exactly as depicted in the movie". 

 

"Zapak will promote this game being created on the movie by Rocking Pixels. We would provide this game access to the 5 million registered users of Zapak. Also the game would be promoted in our Gameplex Network across the country", added Mr. Mehra.

 

Prior to this tie-up Zapak had also partnered with the movie Bhoothnath and had created 5 game packs which included Prank toys, Game Cds and Buchki. Zapak is looking forward for more such associations to create and distribute movie merchandise through their strong distribution network PAN India.
