Excerpts from CNBC-TV18's exclusive interview with Girish Parikh:

Q: You are setting up a new plant at Uttaranchal, which is likely to be commissioned very soon, what is the capacity of that plant?

A: It will be around April, and it will take up about 50% of our productions.

Q: Once it gets commissioned, how much of an upside and revenue do you see coming in?

A: It is a new thing we are doing and bringing a radical change in one of the major products.

Q: How much of an investment will this plant see?

A: It will be about Rs 25 crore.

Q: You are involved in ayurvedic medicines, in gynecology and rheumatology. Are you looking at expanding any of these portfolios and any specific investments in the product launches?

A: The work is at the moment, in the pipeline in R&D level and by the end of next year we will be in the market with five to six new products.

Q: You are sitting at about two acres of land at Dadar, what is the value of the land and what will you be using this land for?

A: At the moment, we are having no plans to dispose it off. Let it be valued, our forefathers have bought it, they have given us inheritance, I know it is a very lucrative thing but I would like to use it for our own purposes. We have not bothered to know about the value of the land.

Q: Are you looking at setting up any facility in that area?

A: We are discussing it at board level.

Q: In terms of a growth rate of the pharma industries, to the herbal side of the business, it is about USD 61 billion and we have a growth rate of about 15-20%. Can that be superimposed in your company and would you expect it to grow about 15-20%?

A: Yes, we are growing. No doubt, in between some period was not good but now again we are regaining and I am confident that we will continue to grow as we have planned.
