Executives from Bharti Airtel will be leaving for Africa this week and will be visiting all 15 countries as part of their due diligence. Sources say lawyers have submitted a preliminary due diligence report to Bharti and that this preliminary report deals primarily with Zain Africa's operations and the status of all its licences.
CNBC-TV18 also learns that the initial due diligence report also delves into Nigerian operations as well as the ongoing litigation with Econet. Bharti is trying to wrap up the entire due diligence process by March 15.
The share of the Indian telecom major closed at Rs 290.15, up Rs 10.9, or 3.9%.
