Yatra.com, India's leading online travel portal today reinforced its position of being a customer centric company with the introduction of a unique reimbursement policy for all domestic flight delays in India. As per the service, Yatra.com will provide all the air travelers a compensation fee of Rs. 200/- for domestic flight delays of over 20 minutes. This compensation could be availed by all travelers irrespective of the fact where they had booked the tickets and not necessarily the Yatra.com users.
This is the first-ever endeavour of a travel services company to partly compensate the customers for their travel related inconveniences. The compensation amount would be paid in form of discount that can be availed by the traveler during his subsequent booking through Yatra.com.
Speaking on the service, Dhruv Shringi, Co founder and CEO, Yatra.com, said, "This unique service is for all those air travelers, who are often left stranded at the airport for irregular weather conditions, traffic or technical snag." He further added "We try to be at the forefront of changing clime of the dynamic travel industry, striving to introduce better and convenient services for air travelers, keeping in mind their needs and valuable time."
As per the service, customer needs to SMS 'DELAY' followed by the PNR No. to 52622 to get the compensation code. To redeem this code, it needs to be typed in the 'Promotion Code' field while making the next domestic flight booking with Yatra.com.
In 2007, Yatra.com introduced 'Yatra Trip Guarantee' that helps redressing customer concerns regarding flight delays, baggage loss and trip cancellations. The assurance was to provide cover to domestic travelers with the compensation cost borne by Yatra.com. This new service is an extension to Yatra Trip Guarantee providing reimbursement for not just limited but for all the domestic flights.
