Xerox invites bid for $400-500m IT deal: Sources

The USD 22-billion business process and document management company, Xerox Corporation has invited bids for USD 400-500 million worth of information technology contract, sources told CNBC-TV18's Kritika Saxena.

Top IT solution companies including Wipro , HCL Tech and IBM, are among the front runners.

The deal, which is expected to close by April, would handle data application, IMS as software development, sources add.

Commenting on the news, a Xerox official said they were regularly working with companies to reduce costs. "Increasing productivity and efficiency with partners is our key goal." However, he refused to divulge details on individual contracts.

IT companies too could not comment.
