CNBC-TV18 has learned that WS Industries may bag a sizeable order for its new plant in Vizag.
Sources said that WS Industries may bag nearly Rs 130-150 crore order for a new plant at Vizag. The order is for substation insulators for exports. The income from the new orders will start flowing in from Q1 FY09.
WS Industries' current order book is at nearly Rs 200 crore. The order book is at around 1.2 time its FY07 revenues.Currently, the plant's capacity is at 16,000 mt and the new capacity will be at 11,000 mt.
The management of the company has said that the commissioning of the new plant will bring new orders and they cannot comment on the size.
WS Industries' current order book is at Rs 200 crore. Analysts said it might go up to Rs 350 crore.
The company is building 1.3-1.4 billion square feet of land along with the Chatterjee Group. The company will lease 3 lakh square feet of land in the IT park, which is the first software park in Chennai. It has transferred 14 acre of land to the special purpose vehicle, or SPV, WS Electric. WS Electric and the Chatterjee Group will jointly develop the IT park. The Chatterjee Group will finance the development cost.
It expects an asset value of Rs 22-25 crore and rental income to come on its books from Q4 FY08.
