Patna, Mar 16 (PTI) The Bihar government will carry out survey to update land records in 13 districts in 2012-13, state Law Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav said today. Replying to a debate on the budget of revenue and land reforms department in the legislative assembly, he said that the data centres and record room will be set up in the districts to store updated land records and maps. Yadav said that the department has implemented the National Land Record Modernization Programme (NLRMP) in all 38 districts to simplify the process of updation of land records, mutation and registration of land. The law minister said the mutation of land and issuance of Land Proprietorship Certificate (LPC) has been brought under the Right to Service Act for expeditious disposal of such applications as people required LPCs for obtaining loan from banks. Yadav said that the state government was also framing rules under the Bihar Special Survey and Settlement Bill, 2011, and Bihar Land Mutation Bill, 2011, to expedite updation of land records. The state government has appointed 92 Deputy Collectors for Land Reform (DCLR) in 92 of 101 sub-divisions and the remaining sub-divisions will have DCLRs soon to deal with cases related to land-related disputes, he said.
