Wipro to relaunch brand Santoor

FMCG player Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCL) announced re-launching of flagship soap brand, Santoor, a senior company official said.

Santoor, the third largest brand in India and the largest selling in the Southern part of the country has roped in Telugu film star Mahesh Babu as its brand ambassador who will feature in the TV commercials and promotion campaign in South, WCCL Senior Vice-President Anil Chugh told reporters here.

"We have retained the original goodness of Santoor and enhanced the offering by introducing new fragrance and formulation. With the new Santoor we seek to strengthen our leadership in our core markets and grow by appealing to new consumers in other markets," he said.

Santoor, the top selling soap brands in South India, has over the years grown from single brand to soap variants, talcum powder, deodorants, liquid soaps, facewash, Anil said, adding that Andhra Pradesh is the key market where the brand has consistently been the leader in its category with a market share of over 32%.
