Wagh Bakri strengthens corporate presence through its foray into retail franchise format. Launches its first "Wagh Bakri Tea Lounge" in Mumbai
Wagh Bakri, the third largest packet tea company in the domestic market, with 23 million kgs of tea distribution and close to Rs.300 crore in volume turnover, entered into retail franchise format with the unveiling of "Wagh Bakri Tea Lounge" in Mumbai. Promising to bring consumers a unique Indian tea drinking experience, the group's first tea lounge was inaugurated by Hon. Shri Manohar Joshi (Ex CM – Maharashtra) in presence of Mr. Piyush Desai (Chairman, Wagh Bakri Tea Group) and the directors, thus marking a significant milestone in its glorious 100 year old legacy.
Wagh Bakri Tea Lounge is set with an objective to offer consumers tea in a style of their own and enjoy drinking with their favourite choice of snacks. Tea enthusiasts can experiment with a variety of tea that will excite their palates and allow them to "Mix and Match" their choice of blend. The lounge offers a wide range of tea, similar to the various forms of Narishakti, giving consumers an opportunity to get acquainted with various forms of Tea such as a strong Assam tea, a healthy Organic tea, a relaxing Green tea, an uplifting Darjeeling tea, a refreshing South Indian tea, Flavoured tea and others. The Tea Lounge also boasts a range of snacks from the traditional fare to the classical Iranian offerings that go well with favourites like Adrak Chai and Pudhina Chai. It plans to roll out into more cities across the country over the next one year and aims to reach Rs 600 cr. turnover by FY 10-11."
