Speaking on the launch of the offer, Santanu Mukherjee, Country Manager – South Asia, Visa International Asia Pacific highlighted that domestic travel among Indians has increased to 430 million trips in 2006, up 13 percent from 2005. The average annual growth rate has been more than 10 percent since 2000. "Indians are traveling more than ever and last year they made 3.5 million transactions on their Visa cards while traveling overseas.”
He added, "Now Visa cardholders who make their airline and hotel bookings online on the Travelguru website can experience the dual benefits of cashback offers and the ability to make convenient, secure and faster travel bookings and payments. As India's largest hotel network, we are happy to offer this great cashback on more than 4,000 hotels across India. Also, offering up to 50 percent off on three premier airlines should bring great value to Indian travelers," said Damera. Planning business trips or holidays for the rest of this year will now be easier than ever and Indian customers will be the ultimate beneficiaries."
