Vindi Banga to quit Unilever after 33 year stint

MS Banga, or Vindi Banga as he is more popularly known, is all set to leave Unilever. Banga who is the President of Unilever's Global Foods, Home, and Personal Care Business, has been with the company for 33 years. He will be replaced by Michael B Polk, who is currently President-Americas of Unilever.

Vindi Banga was the Director for Detergents at Hindustan Lever from 1995 to 1998, as well as the category leader for soaps and detergents for Unilever's Central Asian and West Asian region. He was appointed Senior Vice-President of Unilever's Hair and Oral Care, a post which he held from 1998 to 2000.

In 2004, he became Business Group President for Unilever's Home and Personal Care Business in Asia. In April 2005, Vindi joined the newly formed Unilever executive and was appointed President Foods.

In an exclusive interview to CNBC-TV18, Banga says he was in running for CEO. Speaking on his stint at Unilever, he said, "I enjoyed my 33-year stint. The last few years were very rewarding."
