Dr. Villoo Morawala Patell became Chairman of Avesthagen at the Board meeting held on 7th November 2007.  Dr. Patell is now the Chairman and Managing Director of Avesthagen.  Mr. Darius Udwadia will continue on the Board as Vice Chairman of the Company.

 

Congratulating Dr. Patell on her appointment as Chairman, Mr. Udwadia stated that he had been holding the Chairmanship in trust for the past four years and was indeed very happy to relinquish it in favour of Dr. Patell, the founder and visionary of the Company who is also its single largest shareholder.  He stated that the Company had now matured into a strong science-based company and as such required to be headed by a person with sound scientific knowledge and a strong scientific background.  He observed that the appointment of Dr. Patell as Chairman would be to the advantage of the Company and all of its shareholders.  He wished Dr. Patell all success and fulfillment of all her cherished aspirations for the Company in the bio-science / bio-tech field within India and internationally.
