GlaxoSmithKline reported its fourth quarter results today which saw sales grow backed by strong growth in vaccines and dermatology segments. The company, which launched its key vaccine for pneumococcal diseases last quarter in India is geared up for more such product launches in 2012. GSK India's managing director, Hasit Joshipura, spoke to CNBC-TV18's Archana Shukla about the company's growth drivers and plans.

Below is the transcript of his comments. Also watch the accompanying video.

Q: Can you give us an idea of the growth in vaccines and dermatology segments that pushed sales for you?

A: Vaccines have grown upwards of 35% plus for the year. Dermatology has done well and our specialty products have done well too. So I think we have seen growth across the board.

Q: Synflorix has been a key launch for the company. What's the strategy in place of the company in terms of pricing, in terms of pushing more sales and volumes for Synflorix that you have lined up?

A: It's not about pushing sales here. Its more about helping children because this is a pneumococcal disease, and it is a leading cause for infant mortality in India. Therefore our attempt is to try and make the vaccine as accessible as possible. Now, to do that, we are following our global pricing policy even in the case of Synflorix. Apart from that, we have also expanded our team to make sure that we reach the vaccine as widely as possible. So that's really a sum of what we are attempting to do.

Q: In terms of playing out your own product, from your own product basket the other launches that you can see in 2012?

A: Xgeva, which is a global license to GSK, not global, but parts of the world with GSKs license in from Amgen's, so that will come in. Hopefully, we might bring in a drug for benign prostatic hyperplasia, which is again a GSK drug, but there are generics available in the market during the course of the year.
