UTI Mutual Fund announces the launch of a new scheme - UTI- Capital Protection Oriented Scheme- Series I from December 26, 2006. The new fund offer (NFO) closes on January 25, 2007. Purchase of units will be available only during NFO period.

 

UTI- Capital Protection Oriented Scheme- Series I is a close ended capital protection oriented scheme. The scheme consists of two plans viz. a)3 years plan with a duration of 3 years from the date of allotment and b) 5 years plan with a duration of 5 years from date of allotment.

 

UTI- Capital Protection Oriented Scheme- Series I endeavours to protect the capital by investing in high quality fixed income securities as the primary objective and generate capital appreciation by investing in equity and equity related instruments as secondary objective.

 

Shri Jaideep Bhattacharya, Chief Marketing Officer, UTI AMC said, "The orientation of the scheme is towards protection of capital which originates from the portfolio structure of the scheme. The scheme's portfolio structure has been rated AAA (SO) by Crisil Ltd which indicates highest degree of certainity regarding payment of face value of investment to unit holders on maturity.  "
