UK govt likely to 2 IT deals; Infy, IBM, Capegemini in fray

There is a mouth-watering large IT deal that most of the software companies are eyeing big time. The government of UK is likely to launch two major IT deals worth over USD1 billion, reports CNBC-TV18's Kritika Saxena quoting sources.

It is learnt that one of the deal worth USD 650 million is for the insurance sector while the rest USD 400 million is for the railways sector. Sources add that bids for the both deals will be submitted in a few weeks and large IT vendors are eyeing it.

IT major Infosys likely to be pushing for the large UK contract while IBM, Capgemini are also in the fray.
