UNITED FILM ORGANIZERS (UFO Moviez) the pioneers in digital cinema, is a part of Group Apollo's media initiative and was launched by O S Kanwar, chairman and managing director, Group Apollo and Yash Chopra in November 2005. More than 400 cinemas in India are already installed with UFO digital cinema system and UFO Moviez plans to have 1000 digital cinema screens in India by March 2007, 2000 screens by March '08 and 1000 digital cinema screens outside India.

 

The benefits of using this technology includes reduction in print cost, wide release of the film even in the remote corners of the country, durability of the media, reduction in piracy and so on. By offering a digital solution UFO Moviez is able to cut costs substantially and also able to generate incremental revenue for the industry. It can also promote niche cinema and region- specific films and has lower breakeven points.

 

UFO Moviez is all set to bring in the next generation technology, which would revolutionise the way cinema is viewed both in India as well as around the world.
