Telelogic, the leading global provider of software solutions for Enterprise Lifecycle Management (ELM), has announced the latest release of its industry-leading enterprise architecture solution, Telelogic System Architect.
System Architect 11.0 offers a variety of new features and capabilities that enable civilian and defense agencies to more fully deploy, analyze, visualize, collaborate on and scale their enterprise architecture programs. Highlighting the announcement is integrated support for the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) v1.5 and the Core Architecture Data Model (CADM) specifications in both of System Architect/DoDAF and System Architect/DoDAF Activity Based Methodology (ABM).
"This announcement is a significant step forward in Telelogic´s strategy to broaden the accessibility of enterprise architecture information so that government agencies can make smarter decisions about the future," said Sidharth Mallik, Managing Director India, Telelogic. "By delivering integrated support for defense standards such as DoDAF and CADM, System Architect helps agencies improve their enterprise architecture programs for better communication, collaboration and decision-making."
New System Architect features introduced include:
Integrated support for DoDAF V1.5 :
System Architect has updated its DoD enterprise architecture support by offering out-of-the-box DoDAF V1.5 support, including the ability to model capabilities and services as a first step to developing the net-centric architecture of the future. New diagrams, definition types, matrices and reports that comply with the DoDAF V1.5 standard are included. These new features are available in both System Architect DoD solutions.
Integrated Support for CADM and DARS :
System Architect now supports generation of the Core Architecture Data Model (CADM), the DoD´s architecture data element specification. This integration gives agencies the means to comply with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction 6212.01D. CADM-compliant XML is generated to streamline the export of architecture data from the System Architect repository into the DoD Architecture Repository System (DARS), a CADM-compliant repository for storing defense architecture information and metadata. This new option enables agencies to more easily submit and share their architectures and models across the DoD. System Architect is the first solution to generate all of the Directive 6212-compliant products for CADM.
Microsoft Visio Support :
The Telelogic System Architect/Process Integrator delivers a live integration between System Architect´s enterprise architecture solution and Microsoft Visio drawing and diagramming software. Business analysts using Visio can now more easily access and analyze architecture data to ensure IT development is aligned to business goals and processes.
Enterprise Planning Support :
New enterprise planning capabilities deliver a collection of features that enable agencies to use their architecture to better understand the impact, resources and risks associated with evolving from their current environment to a future state. New features include time-based analysis, dynamic views and categorizations, and enterprise visualization. These new features enable architecture teams to compare their as is´ and to be´ architectures and better understand and plan for change. This is available to System Architect users via the core product as well as the Web-based product System Architect/XT, and System Architect/Publisher.
Expanded Web-based Editing :
System Architect/XT, the Web-based version of System Architect, now offers expanded online editing capabilities, including the ability to use a Web browser to draw and edit models using the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and organizational chart diagrams. Also included are executive dashboards for improved high-level reporting. This addition expands the ability of System Architect customers to post, review and share models regardless of geographic boundaries and time zones.
UML 2.1 Support :
System Architect is now fully compliant with the UML® 2.1 standard.
