TCS expands into ‘emerging services’
As services major Tata Consultancy Services continues to expand globally with footprint in new geographies, some of the innovations made by their R&D teams are set to make a bigger impact touching different sectors.
The Hyderabad operations have grown phenomenally over the last three decades and it now employs over 5,500 people, located across two fully owned campuses and two leased premises. The company recently commissioned the phase one of the Synergy Park which has the capacity to host around 8,000 people when completed.
Following the recent approval for TCS Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the company had indicated that this will be developed in a phased manner with a capacity to host 15,000 by 2013.
The Hyderabad centre fits perfectly into the corporate Global Services Delivery Model (GSDM) that complements the near shore and regional services centres. Traditionally, the services areas include telecom, healthcare, hi-tech and Government. Areas of engineering and industrial services and insurance are being further consolidated.
