Hyderabad, Sept. 23
As services major Tata Consultancy Services continues to expand globally with footprint in new geographies, some of the innovations made by their R&D teams are set to make a bigger impact touching different sectors.
These include bioinformatics and digital certification, RFID (radio frequency identification) and automation of software coding. Interestingly, some of these innovations were attempted by R&D team as and when need arose, later ending in distinct products.
The General Manager of TCS and Head of Hyderabad operations, Mr V. Rajanna, said that the company was investing in expanding into emerging services areas spanning infrastructure management, software testing and acceleration of software delivery.
Mr Rajanna (who started TCS’ China operations) told Business Line that two R&D centres in Hyderabad addressing areas of bioinformatics and security and Systems Engineering and Cybernetics Centres are engaged in projects that complement TCS’s global services delivery and also develop products for other markets.
