To commemorate Sun Microsystems' 25th anniversary, Sun India will host its first ever CxO event - Sun Technovate '07 in Mumbai on May 17 and 18, 2007 at Hotel Grand Hyatt in the presence of its Co-founder and Chairman of Board of Directors, Scott McNealy. Scott will kick off Sun Technovate '07 on May 17th with a keynote address along with Mr. N. Srinath, Executive Director, VSNL.
Exploring the theme of "India - The Next Big Idea", Sun Technovate '07 is a forum designed specifically to mobilize India's cutting edge potential and deliver critical success to its technology consumers.
The two-day event will be attended by over 150 CxOs (CIOs, CFOs and CEOs) from various industry sectors including telecom, BFSI, retail and manufacturing. These key decision makers will be treated to a mélange of expert insights from top business leaders, peer exchange and technologies, and will include exclusive previews and presentations from Sun Microsystems
and its partners. Participants will be provided with exclusive peeks into yet to be released enterprise service-oriented architecture, collaborative business networks, and other cutting-edge solutions and strategies.
After serving as the CEO of the company for almost 22 years (from 1984 to 2006), McNealy handed over the reins to Jonathan Schwartz who took over as CEO in April 2006. Scott continues as Chairman of Sun Microsystems and has assumed the role of Chairman of Sun Federal, Sun's operation that works with the federal government. In his new role, Scott travels the world meeting
with Sun's top customers and working to eliminate the digital divide. This would be Scott's second visit to India after Sun established direct operations in the country in 1998. During his three-day visit, Scott will meet with high profile government officials, bureaucrats, customers and partners. He will also address a developer forum in Bangalore. His India tour theme is "Open Drives Progress" and this would drive his agenda in India.
