Sun Microsystems India, world leaders in innovative networking computing technologies and NetMagic, India's leading managed IT services provider today announced a strategic alliance to help startups in India and provide them access to Sun's technologies and services from Sun and NetMagic. The alliance marks the first ever-local partnership for the SSE program in India to offer web-hosting services to Sun's customers in the country.

The SSE program was launched in the United States in November 2006 and over 2500 companies are part of the program today. Sun extended the program to India due to the rapid growth in numbers of developers and startups in this region in August 2007. In a short span of 8 months the SSE program has met with an overwhelming response from the Indian start up community The SSE program ( http://in.sun.com/startup ) also offers start-ups the ability to subscribe to web-hosting services through NetMagic's technologies from Sun partners at deeply discounted rates thus freeing them of the hassle of maintaining their own data centers.

This alliance gives Sun Microsystems' SSE program customers access to reliable and flexible hosting solutions from Net magic powered by groundbreaking Sun technologies, software and services hosted at NetMagic's world class data centers and backed by expert advice from Sun on most pressing technical questions.

Commenting on the venture with Netmagic, Mr. K.P Unnikrishnan, Director - Marketing, Alliance and Teleweb Sales, Sun Microsystems India said, "When we launched the SSE program in India, we were offering web-hosting services through two US based companies.  As our program grew manifold, the feedback we received from the market was to also have a local web-hosting provider and offer more choice to our customers. In NetMagic we found a perfect fit, not only because they have data centers in India but also considering their world class internet data centers combined with advanced technology and professional service capabilities, to deliver mission critical hosted applications to their customers in a secure and seamless manner. Over the years NetMagic has established a good mind share within the start up community in India besides providing them with world class internet data centers and professional services This partnership will continue to ensure that our customers have access to superior technology."

"We believe this tie up with NetMagic will help us further penetrate the start up sector in India by making our offerings more relevant and appealing to the Indian startup landscape," he further added.

Mr. Kishore Badami, VP- Global Marketing, Netmagic Solutions commenting on the alliance said, "Web-hosting has become an essential component of any web application today.  Our world-class Internet datacenters provide the ideal hosting environment for organizations irrespective of their size.
