Mr. Sudhakar Ram, CMD, Mastek Ltd. recently bagged the CNBC Asia's India Business Leader of the year award at the CNBC TV18 India Business Leader Awards .  The ceremony held in Mumbai witnessed Mr. Ram receiving the award amidst the company of various dignitaries, India's top Business Barons and the entertainment industry.

Mr. Ram who took over the role as the Chairman and Managing Director of Mastek from his position of Group CEO nearly a year ago has been the catapulting force in identifying the "Third Wave"   opportunity for the Indian IT industry and in leveraging Mastek's strength as an IT solutions company. More than two years ago, Mr. Ram headed to the USA to grow the company's US operations. Backed by his rich experience of more than two decades, the unit grew by 40% within only a year. He also led the repositioning of Mastek, focusing on a few chosen verticals like 'Insurance' and 'Government'. His focus has paid great dividends, with more than 70% of the company's business coming from these domains.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Ram said, "It is truly a privilege and an honour to be a recipient of such a coveted award. This is also a testament of the hard-work and dedicated effort put in by my team at Mastek who have made India proud by delivering solutions that impact not only individual companies but cities and countries as well. I also take this opportunity to thank all of Mastek's partners and customers who have contributed toward this achievement. Recognition like this award further strengthens our resolve to build Mastek as a leader of 'Wave-3 IT Companies' from India. I also congratulate all the other industry leaders that CNBC has identified and felicitated for the outstanding work that they have done."
