The market is likely to open flat despite positive economic data from global peers. Asian shares are mixed following a recent spate of gains as investors weigh the prospects of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve as early as next month.
The European and US markets were up, as stocks on Wall Street extending gains to set fresh record closing highs as the strength followed a slew of economic data, showing stronger than expected retail sales growth in January. Also, the consumer prices increased more than expected in January.
As per provisional figures, foreign institutional investors (FIIs)/Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 225.84 crore on February 15, 2017. Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 248.98 crore on that day.
