Invest in Lupin with long term view: Shahina Mukadam

Shahina Mukadam of Independent Market Expert told CNBC-TV18, "In Lupin the next six months is going to be really challenging. In fact even for Lupin if you see, the first three months of last year were reasonably healthy. So on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, we are going to be disappointed again and again as we have seen in the first quarter. I don’t see that is going to change. I think the competition that is there across the boards in US is seeing a very substantial decline in revenues in the US market and correspondingly the profits."

"If I was a longer term investor, which I am, I would be investing in these stocks at current levels because if you see valuation, take Lupin for example, if you take valuations for Lupin, if you look at it in a broader EV/EBITDA basis, it is just 15 times. So I think all these – I would not say all but a lot of the bad news if you are holding for the longer term is factored into the current prices."

"I would be an investor in Lupin, I would be an investor in Aurobindo Pharma which I am, and I would also be an investor in something like a Glenmark Pharma. So, I would be investing in the pharmaceutical sector with a two to three year horizon. If I have a six month horizon, I would stay away," she added.
