RBI Governor D Subbarao says:
-Announces measures to address exchange rate volatility
-Marginal standing facility rate to be 300 bps above repo rate
-Marginal standing facility recalibrated at 10.25 percent versus 8.25 percent with immediate effect
-Bank rate stands adjusted at 10.25 percent versus 8.25 percent earlier with immediate effect
-Funds under liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) limited to 1 percent of Net Demand and Time Liabilities (NDTL)
-Changes in LAF to come into effect from July 17
-To conduct open market operation (OMO) of Rs 12,000 crore on July 18

-Rupee has depreciated markedly in last 6 weeks

RBI says:
