Mr. Samyukth Sridharan, Chief Commercial Officer - SpiceJet Ltd., said "We have decided to start our services to Port Blair looking at the large chunk of travelers and also to hive-off the existing limited scope of travel modes available to Port Blair".

He further added, "We are financially very strong to support our operations and also the first low-cost carrier in the country to breakeven in the first quarter posting a net profit of Rs. 18.5 crores and total income registering a robust growth of 77% at Rs 311 crores."

Sharing the way forward plans, SpiceJet also announced their focus on Ancillary services along with in-flight promotions such as brand promotions, selling food on-board, on-board courier etc. This year SpiceJet will add more new Boeing aircraft and the increased fleet size will help the airline in adding more destinations to its existing network.
