Spanco Telesystems & Solutions Ltd plans to set up a strategic business unit (SBU) to market 'Su Rakshaa,' a product that enables real-time monitoring of vehicles. Spanco intends to market this product to IT/BPO firms and transport agencies servicing these industries.

Su Rakshaa is an RFID or radio-frequency identification-based GSM product that can be implemented in a cab used for ferrying employees. The system is connected to the company's security department and the nearest police station. The vehicles will have a pre-determined route and any deviation would be communicated immediately, said Mr Sandeep Soni, Executive Director and CEO, Spanco BPO Services.

Su Rakshaa was developed in the company's RFID division, in order to ensure safety of the employees who use cabs to commute to the work place. Spanco is in the process of implementing this technology in all its cabs, added Mr Soni. The BSE-listed Spanco provides services in areas such as systems integration, ITES and BPO.
