The vehicle tracking systems segment in India is expected to earn revenues of $78.2 million in 2011, according to an analysis from Frost & Sullivan.

However, it was the rape and murder of a Wipro BPO employee by the driver of the company cab in November last year that prompted the IT/BPO industry to review employee security measures, especially during odd hours. According to industry body NASSCOM, women constitute 38 per cent of the IT/BPO workforce. Mr Soni said that the SBU would be operational by the end of the current quarter.
